In this paper, ionospheric and geomagnetic transient effects and
after-effects caused by the large solar flare with two bright branches
of Sept. 4, 1982 are analyzed comprehensively. The results show that
most of the effects are remarkable. This may relate to the particular
severity of this magnetic storm.
