The author has examined special features of determining the planetocentric coordinates of a spacecraft in a flyby of an asteroid under investigation and a probe separated from the spacecraft in order to approach the asteroid. It is shown that by viewing the planet against the star background one can determine accurately the positions of the spacecraft and the probe relative to the asteroid. It is shown that in principle one can use autonomous optical navigation to achieve landing of the probe on the planet.
