Preliminary results are presented on the analysis of measurements of Lyman alpha radiation near Venus by photometers aboard the Venera 9 and 10 probes. The photometers contained two cells filled with hydrogen and deuterium and three detectors recording transmitted and scattered Lyman alpha radiation in the lines H I 1215.7 A and D I 1215.4 A. The photometer was installed on the shady side of the orbital station so that its optical axis was at an angle of 120 deg to the direction to the sun.
