In the last years, a large number of photoneutron reactions in the astrophysically relevant energy window just above the neutron emission threshold has been studied in photoactivation experiments at the superconducting Darmstadt electron linear accelerator S-DALINAC. The experimental results are discussed with regard to their astrophysical implications and compared with two statistical model calculations.
Complementary experiments on (p,γ) and (α,γ) reactions of astrophysical interest for the p process are planned for the next years at the Cologne TANDEM ion accelerator. We report on a first test experiment studying the proton capture reaction 74Ge(p,γ)75As at energies within the astrophysically relevant Gamow window.
