A study is presented of the characteristics of optimal flight trajectories to several periodic comets with well-defined orbital elements. Starting dates for optimal flights to 16 comets in the period 1985-1991 are presented. Acceleration and approach velocity isolines are determined for a number of comets, and trajectory corrections are obtained for flights to these comets. Particular attention is given to flights to comets Encke and Halley.
