The spectral characteristics of penetrating radiation and their spatial
and temporal variations were investigated on board Cosmos 426 during
seven months after its launching in June, 1975. The instruments carried
by the satellite are described. Data on particle fluxes obtained during
magnetically quiet and disturbed times are examined.
