Scientific paper

Several mechanisms for forming interstellar formaldehyde are reviewed.
Three new mechanisms involving neutral species are suggested.
Calculations show that mechanisms of this type may explain observations
of formaldehyde in dense clouds, but not in the less dense and more
typical regions.
