During the decline of solar cycle 22 and the birth of cycle 23, SOHO's LION instrument recorded seversl different kinds of particle enhancement. The solar-related particle events prominent in the LION data were individually associated with old cycle spots. The range of investigations that can be conducted with using the LION data set is outlined.
