Telescopes: Interferometry
Scientific paper
The Columbus Telescope is being designed for high performance interferometric applications. Many of its optical-mechanical characteristics result from direct observational experience with the 6.86 m cophased MMT. Specific measurements of the MMT's vibrational, thermal, and mechanical stabilities have strongly influenced this design.
