Relations between the periodicity of type 2 quasi-periodic ELF-VLF emissions, which is not associated with that of concurrent magnetic pulsations, and the spectral features of magnetic variations and geomagnetic conjugacy during type 2 events are investigated. Emissions and magnetic pulsations were measured at Syowa and Mizuho Stations in Antarctica and at Husafell in Iceland, which is located near the geomagnetic conjugate point of Syowa. Frequency-time spectra of the type 2 emissions reveal the regularity in the repetition period. Spectrum and coherency analyses of concurrent magnetic variations indicate that the pulsation spectra have no peak corresponding to the spectral peak of intensity modulations of the quasi-periodic emission, although a small but significant frequency component corresponding to the spectral peak of the emissions is occasionally observed in moderately disturbed conditions. Quasi-periodic structures with rising elements are found almost simultaneously at the two conjugate locations, with the spectral components of 80 mHz pulsations related to periodic modulations of VLF emissions. It is suggested that weak magnetic pulsations, correlated with type 2 quasi-periodic emissions, are produced by ionospheric conductivity changes associated with wave-induced particle precipitation.
