CONSIDERABLE progress has been made in determining integrated intensities of bands for the interpretation of spectra, especially in the case of overlapping bands1. The difference in the equilibrium internuclear separations of the LaO (B-->X) system, which is of astrophysical interest2, has been assigned the value of 0.038 Å by N. S. M.3, who used the peak intensities4 and the vibrational intensity theory of Manneback5. Later a rotational analysis6 revealed this difference, Δre, as 0.030 Å.
