Atmospheric delay variations can cause problems for the interpretation of interferograms. In this paper, we propose a method to mitigate the atmospheric distortions of the interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) interferogram by integrating GPS observations and operational global analysis data from the National Centers for Environmental Prediction Final (NCEP FNL). Mean wind is extracted from NCEP FNL to implement the Taylor's frozen-flow hypothesis, which increases the density of GPS derived wet delay control points. The results indicate that the integration of GPS observations and NCEP FNL data can effectively identify and mitigate ENVISAT Advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (ASAR) interferogram atmospheric distortions. Furthermore, it is also shown that it is possible to implement Taylor’s frozen-flow hypothesis and obtain a denser network of wet delay of control points to mitigate the InSAR atmospheric delay.
