MAP-PACE onboard Kaguya started continuous observation of the lunar
plasma in mid-December 2007. During the commissioning period,
MAP-PACE-IMA (Ion Mass Analyzer) discovered alkali ions originated from
the lunar surface or lunar atmosphere.
