The infrared spectrum and molecular constants of CO2 are recorded in the 1.4 to 1.7 micron atmospheric window using the very high resolution Fourier transform spectrometer of the Meudon Observatory. The 3 - 0 spectral band of CO is utilized as an internal wavelength standard, in conjunction with some H2O lines located in the extremities of the spectral range (0.009 to 0.012 per cm) in order to make all spectra internally consistent, and two spectra with a CO - CO2 mixture are recorded. The data, which are compared with results obtained by Mandin (1977) from the Venus spectra, exhibit significant discrepancies (up to 0.025 per cm for the band centers). The discrepancies are considered in relation to the quality of the planetary spectra.
