Large-scale, diffuse emission covering several square degrees is observed at 11 and 20 microns in medium-resolution maps of Cyg X, along with two prominent emission ridges formed by the gamma Cyg-IC 1318b,c and DR 21 complexes. Of the discrete sources also found in the region, many are extended with respect to the 11-arcmin effective resolution of the maps. The mid- and far-infrared and the radio continuum emission in this region is found to be strongly correlated in this region at all scales. While the brighter discrete sources, emission ridges, all of the 20-micron and at least half of the 11-micron large-scale features can be explained as emission from H II regions along the line of sight, the fainter discrete sources and some 11-micron emission may be due to objects embedded in circumstellar dust shells.
