The International Focusing Optics Collaboration for uCrab Sensitivity (InFOCuS) is in the vanguard of a new generation of instruments that will combine multilayer grazing incidence hard x-ray focusing optics with advances in high Z CdZnTe pixel detectors to achieve orders of magnitude improvement in sensitivity and spatial resolution. Our collaboration has successfully demonstrated both the mirror and the focal plane technologies needed for InFOCuS. We are presently fabricating a balloon born telescope and expect to fly in Spring of 2000.
