Dual satellite crossovers or repeat pass data between different altimetric satellite missions provides a mechanism for resolution of constant and geographically correlated errors which are unobservable in single satellite crossovers. Through long-term analyses it is possible to characterise the form of the difference both temporally and spatially. In this study dual crossovers between TOPEX/Poseidon and the less accurate ERS datasets are analysed for errors in ERS with particular emphasis on the long-term stability of the altimetric datasets. Corresponding results are also presented from analysis of the ERS repeat pass data during the tandem period.
