We study several properties (geometrical, kinematical and dynamical) of
the Wahlquist solution for a rotating object (stationary and
axisymmetric). Different approaches to the definition of inertial forces
in general relativity are analysed for particles in the equatorial plane
of this solution (in particular, for fluid particles).
