The Galactic center region was almost continuously observed for about 100 days during an X-ray experiment on the Prognoz-9 satellite. A 62-hour periodicity was obtained from an epoch-superposition analysis of the counting rate in the 10-50 keV energy range between October 31 and December 20, 1983. Although the X-ray device had a wide field of view (about 0.7 sr), angle coordinate definition made it possible to restrict the localization of the source of the periodic process. It was found that the source region of the periodicity contained only one prominent Galactic source, Sco X-1.
