This paper shows that there exists a finite-time singularity for the
incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. The construction is straightforward. By
assuming a special structure from the pressure field and assuming that the
velocity field has a zero curl and some other functional assumptions the result
follows. The initial data is smooth and square-integrable.
