The development of the French Quadristatic Incoherent Scatter Facility is described. The new stations (Mende and Monpazier) are both equipped with a three-beam Cassegrain antenna, aimed to simultaneously intersect the transmitting beam at three different heights. This system is then able to measure three components of the ion wind vector with a greatly improved time resolution. Measurements of winds and temperatures over Nancay in August 1974 and over Mende during October 1975 and January 1976 are presented.
