In situ measurements of 3D wind and particle load profiles in dust devils. Calculation of horizontal profiles of dust devil vertical dust flux. Most sediments lifted by dust devils are coarse grained and are not transported far. Dust devils can lift 50-1000 kg km -2 day -1 of dust. In active regions, dust devils might cause 2.5-50 μm of deflation per year.
