The NASA Dawn spacecraft is on its way to meet Vesta in 2011 [1]. On board is a German contribution to the mission: the Framing Camera (FC). We report on our analysis of the first in-flight data, acquired during the Initial Check-Out (ICO) phase in the months following launch. Observation of several photometric standard stars and star fields allowed us to calibrate the FC and characterize its performance. The FC was found to perform well and within expectations.
