A technique for improving the orbit of a visual binary is described and
demonstrated. It is shown that the (O-C)theta and (O-C)rho residuals can
be minimized more efficiently using the algorithm of Marquardt (1963)
than with empirical, semiempirical, or classical methods. Sample results
for ADS 8635 and ADS 8862 are presented in tables.
