A 6 solar-mass in the phase of crossing the Hertzsprung gap is subjected to a secular stability analysis, including a perturbation of chemical abundances. Both the usual secular spectrum and the continuous nuclear spectrum are found in the numerical computations. The slowest (real) mode of the continuous nuclear spectrum contributes considerably to the evolution, especially of the core and shell source regions.
