The effects of different image quality errors with PRONAOS (French acronym for national project for submillimeter observational) telescope are assessed using a specially developed code PRONAOS is a classical Cassegrain telescope with a 2 m diameter segmented primary mirror and a focal length of 20 m. The image quality errors assessed are due to segment figure errors (fabrication errors), segment positioning errors and telescope alignment errors. In the far submillimeter range the telescope is diffraction limited. Computed simulations therefore give the wavefront error rms, the intensity distribution in the local plane, and the encircled energy.
