In the HELLAZ project, Micromegas chambers have been used with He at one
bar and room temperature. Pulses due to the avalanch electron movement,
as short as 4ns at the base, that can follow each other within 7ns, have
been obtained with fast current preamps. The gain (106)
allows a very good single electron efficiency.
