Gamma-Ray Sources, Gamma-Ray Bursts

Scientific paper

The possibility that GRS 1915+105 is the origin of the soft gamma repeater SGR 1900+14 has been proposed. We discuss here the arguments that favour or not such a relationship, and conclude that it is unlikely that the two sources are the same. We suggest that the events seen with BATSE could indeed have been originated from SGR 1900+14 or from a different repeating source.
