Scientific paper

The basic equations of the frozen-in state of the magnetospheric plasma
are examined. These equations are used to investigate the generation of
MHD Rossby waves in the magnetosphere near the magnetopause. The results
are used to propose a new mechanism for the generation of Pc3
geomagnetic pulsations.
