We present calculations of instabilities in hydromagnetic Taylor-Couette
flow at finite and infinite aspect ratios. In the former case we are
concerned with the existence of anomalous modes; in the latter case we
describe the magneto-rotational instability as well as kinematic and
fully self-consistent dynamos.
