Shear instability in tachocline region can be the source of increase in intensity of small-scale turbulent flows. Simultaneous action of forcing of shear flow in this region can lead to hydrodynamic long-term (in respect to short-term turbulent velocity fluctuations) oscillations. We present a numerical model that reproduced such oscillations with 11-year period. Forcing of flow gives rise to torsional waves that drift from high to low latitudes.
