The Moon, our natural satellite and the most prominent object in the night sky, can provide a wealth of information about the evolution of the solar system and offer scope for physics-based investigations. Using statistical analysis of real scientific data students can predict the diameter and depth of impact craters. These predictions can then be compared with data gathered in the school or college laboratory.
