The introduction of a planetary science topic into teaching provides an opportunity to broaden the science base, whilst at the same time satisfying many of the National Curriculum requirements for cross-curricular scientific investigative activities relevant to the real world. Here pupils are given the opportunity to investigate how impact craters are formed.
