The main problems related to solar observations are reviewed, and recent advances in the technology of observation and analysis are reviewed. Recent findings on the convection dependency of the motion of solar granules are discussed. These convective cells are 5000-6000 km in breadth and are called mesogranulation. They are intermediate in size between those resulting from granulation and from supergranulation. The observation of an eddy in the mesogranulation is reported.
