We discuss a new optical technique for measuring daytime optical emissions. We elucidate the method of analysis for retrieving the daytime airglow and auroral emissions using this instrument and explain the procedure used to account for the Ring effect contribution. Finally, we show sample results of thermospheric oxygen dayglow emissions obtained by this instrument.
