Experimental detection of high-energy gamma rays together with extensive air shower cores including gamma rays is reported. The experiment relied on spark chambers and scintillation counters, as well as a high-altitude emulsion chamber with five sensitive layers. Air shower events registered in the form of the burst trigger, the burst density spectrum, and the energy spectrum of cascade showers initiated by gamma rays or hadrons in the emulsion chamber are presented; the statistical features of the combined events are compared with the remaining uncombined gamma ray and EAS events. Two hundred seventy-one gamma ray events with energy flow greater than 1 TeV were obtained in the emulsion chamber.
