It is shown that the unusually high level of geophysical disturbances in the first half of Feb. 1986 is associated with two solar active regions (4711 and 4713) characterized by the disturbance of all three levels of the solar atmosphere. Active spot-forming activity, chromospheric flares accompanied by radio bursts, and the disappearance of filaments and coronal holes were observed in all three active regions. The high intensity and complex character of the disturbances of geophysical fields (magnetic variations, the ionosphere, and cosmic rays) is explained by the superposition of effects from several sources of geoefficient radiation.
