Solar Microwave Radiation: Structure, Magnetic Fields: Sunspots
Scientific paper
The structure of microwave emission from sunspot magnetic field has been put forward by assuming the said field to be due to a bar magnet, one pole of which is presumed to be located at the base level of the magnetic loop. The gyro-synchrotron emission mechanism for the radio burst generation along with the aforesaid model of magnetic field structure helps to compute the variation of effective temperature with height during transitory radio emission in the solar atmosphere. The effective temperature has been found to follow a power law with height in the solar atmosphere.
