The investigation of heavy flavours is one of the main topics of HERA physics. The measurement of the decay of heavy quarks benefits strongly from the HERA II data taking, not only from the high luminosity but also from the improved tracking. HERA produced many recent results on the heavy quark contribution to the proton structure. In this talk a brief overview of the measurement of F2{cbar c} will be presented and compared with theoretical predictions. Data on the beauty contribution to F2 will be shown, as well.
