Inspection of photometric data from the Hipparchos satellite showed that HD 32456 was a Cepheid variable with a period of 3.29 days. 10are known to have double modes. Since there are only 15 double mode Cepheids known, HD 32456 was added to the observing program of the Four College Consortium Automatic Photometric Telescope. It is now clear that only one mode is excited. From the Fourier expansion coefficients of the light curves we have identified this as pulsating in the fundamental mode making it one of the shortest period fundamental mode Cepheids known
