An efficiency of spectral observations of Seyfert galaxies in the red wavelength range is discussed. As the H-alpha emission is one of the strongest lines in the spectrum of AGN its observation is accessible even for the small instruments. At the same time variations of H-alpha profile reflect the corresponding changes of the central source of ionization.
