Two-dimensional and three-dimensional numerical simulations of MHD turbulence were performed with resolutions of up to 512 x 512 and 64 x 64 x 64, respectively. It was observed in both cases that the correlation coefficient between the velocity and the magnetic field grows in time. This evolution toward a state of maximal correlation is a consequence of the fact that the cross energy decays slower than the total energy.
