The surfaces of Centaurs and Trans-Neptunian Objects contain potentially unique records of early evolutionary processing {accretional and dynamical} in the outer solar system. The red colors {V-K 2-3} of the few objects observed to date facilitate observations in the 1-2.4um region which is also especially sensitive to absorption features of likely surface frosts and primitive organic materials. Because these objects are faint, near-infrared colors/spectra are available only for the 5 brightest ones {V<=20.5} and progress remains slow. We propose to measure the spectral properties {R 10-20} of 8 unobserved Centaurs and TNOs from 1-2um using NICMOS grism B. By co-adding pixels, we will improve signal-to-noise at the expense of spectral resolution and can operate with NIC3 at its present focus. We will coordinate with our ongoing Keck and NICMOS GTO observations to measure spectral {R 10-20} properties from 1-2.4um, resulting in a total sample of 13 objects. The performance of the NICMOS grism both extends and complements our ongoing spectroscopy with the Keck.
