The formulas for the simulation of stresses and pore pressure in a porous elastic half space for a finite reservoir surface load using the Green's function approach are reported. Solutions are given under the decoupled approximation of the governing partial differential equations. In this case results of the classical Boussinesq problem may be imported directly to calculate the stresses. However, for the calculation of pore pressure an inhomogeneous diffusion equation is solved.
