A group of numerical models is analyzed which simulate the dynamical evolution of globular cluster systems under conditions similar to those of M87, the giant elliptical galaxy of the Virgo cluster. The numerical integration of the equations of motion used in the models was performed using a method similar to that of Wielen (1967). The models were integrated over a period of 10 to the 10th years. The results of the integration show that over a time period comparable to the age of the universe one third of the globular clusters are lost by their parent galaxies, and half of that number are clusters captured by other galaxies. Some additional implications of the results for current theories of stellar evolution are discussed.
