This proposal will execute the carrousel portion of the standard functional test, ZMEDFCAR, to study carrousel operations in light of the resent GHRS safing events. ZMEDFCAR will be run six times on side 2 followed by twelve iterations on side 1. This test is designed to take lines of science data as the carrousel is moving so that we get actual encoder readings to correlate to the engineering telemetry. As the test progresses we will be looking for any change in the carrousel telemetry profile. The goal of this test is to gain data in support of the theory that the resent GHRS safing events were caused by an intermittant failure of carrousel control driver number 6 on side 1.
