The Environmental Satellite (Envisat), to be launched in mid-2001, will carry ten scientific instruments. The first six months after launch will be devoted to the Commissioning Phase, during which the instruments will be tested and calibrated. During this period the validation of the geophysical products will start. This paper gives an overview of the validation activities planned for validation of the geophysical data products.
