A correlation is pointed out between variations in the earth's magnetic
field, the earth's rotation rate and some climatic indicators, thus
suggesting a possible long term influence of core motions on climate. It
is suggested that geomagnetic secular variation can be used to forecast
a climatic change in the 1990s.
