An expression is presented for the generation of kinetic energy of atmospheric circulation on a slowly rotating planet in the case when the Coriolis effect can be ignored, i.e., direction of the main flow and the pressure gradient coincide. Formulas are presented for energy generation efficiency and for turbulent energy dissipation. A numerical circulation model of the Venus atmosphere is examined.
