The interaction and self-defocusing of different types of waves in
unbounded media are studied. A plane waveguide filled with 'cold' plasma
with a constant magnetic field guided along the waveguide walls is
considered. It is shown that efficient excitation of the Alfven wave
harmonic is possible in this plasma system.
